Choice of Jim Cheek here at on alto. Massive tone, with a lot of power, but not at the expense of some rich, warm harmonics. These are clearly aimed at the same kind of place as mouthpieces such as Dukoff - a lot of edge and projection- great for blues, funk, swing band lead playing and the like. They also seem to work extremely well on vintage horns (which tend to be notoriously temperamental when it comes to using modern mouthpieces).

The SR Alto Professional is modeled after the SR Tenor Professional, and has a .085 inches tip opening. With a moderate baffle and medium chamber the SR Alto Professional combines a strong altissimo with a warm core sound. This mouthpiece is suitable for a range of styles that reaches from Johnny Hodges to David Sanborn. Computer machined from solid brass and gold plated, complete with Rovner Ligature and Cap, the SR Alto Professional

Tip Opening: .085 inches

"Best mouthpiece Ive played so far"
The best mouthpiece I have played so far. It is very free blowing and tone production is effortless through the whole range: Altissimo comes very easy (compared to others), and low notes are also easy to get and sound rich and full. Tuning is very even which is probably because the large chamber compensates for the room taken by the high baffle, thus also making for a balanced sound.
