NEVER SEEN IN THE UK BEFORE, these professional Selmer USA altos have been assigned to in an exclusive deal!  They are currently being offered on an astounding Special Offer basis as part of this promotion!

The Selmer AS42 Alto Saxophone marks a first ever collaboration between Henri Selmer Paris and Selmer USA on an entry-level professional saxophone.

Featuring a fully ribbed body construction, Pisoni pro leather pads with metal resonators, blued steel springs and hand engraving - the body for the AS42 is ready for the advancing player, but it also comes with a neck designed and manufactured by Selmer Paris for this instrument. This makes the AS42 the most unique instrument in its class and price range, and the only one that can boast a genuine Henri Selmer Paris neck.

My first impressions of this saxophone are that is not out of place amongst professional horns. The key touches feel assured and robust, with a certain professional feel. If I closed my eyes I would easily believe that it was a Selmer Pairs horn in my hands. Initial fingering of the keys lead to a satisfying pop at the bottom end and a very comfortable journey up through the palm keys.

The collaboration with Selmer Paris is most apparent with the inclusion of a Selmer Paris neck. There is a fulfilling ring emitted as you draw the neck from the tenon, a sound usually only associated with the incredibly well engineered Japanese saxophones.

Pisoni pads and metal resonators ensure that this saxophone seals well and bounces that sound immediately back into the body and out the bell. This instrument has all the components of a professional horn. It feels well balanced, solid and certainly warrants its place in the intermediate to pro market!
