Amazing £450 saving to be had on this used Keilwerth MKX Alto Saxophone.

Signs of previous wear show some very light scratches to the low Bb, B and C guards, tiny scratches to the bow section, scratches to the high E key and scratches to the G and F# keys.

Ideal for players wanting a sax with a distinctively vintage appeal.

A tone reminiscent of the old Conn and Buescher saxes of the 1940s and a vintage look to match complimented by a more compact, conventional keying action.

While the MKX and SX90R series do share some characteristics, they can be likened to cousins who share a common blood line, but have individual qualities and personalities that allow them a unique voice of their own.

The MKX retains that powerful Keilwerth sound but has a feel and keying action closer to that of the classic French saxophones. The end result is an impressive sax with a powerful tone, a fast action and a distinctive vintage look.

Most players appreciate that big Keilwerth sound but not everyone likes the feel of the larger diameter body tube. With the MKX Keilwerth have retained the best tonal characteristics of the famous SX90R - the MKX still has a larger bow and bell, but the body tube and keywork is closer to that of a Selmer MkVI. If you've ruled out Keilwerth in the past because of the feel, I recommend revisiting them sometime soon to try the MKX, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Phill (
