Sax.co.uk Recommends

The GAIA alto has a traditional full sound similar to a vintage Meyer Bros. alto mouthpiece. It is designed for a traditional full and rich sound with very good projection. Also, due to its True Large Chamber, it has an even bigger, fuller sound than the vintage mouthpieces. It is incredibly rich sounding and is both fun and inspirational to play.

The GAIA tends towards a traditional Jazz taste, but is quite versatile. The GAIA has a medium roll-over baffle, precision-sculpted inner sidewalls, and our True Large Chamber for a simply huge and alive vintage sound.

The GAIA hard rubber uses BY FAR the highest quality, most resonant, hard rubber available today in saxophone mouthpieces. By optimizing manufacturing techniques and recipes for hard rubber manufactured in the 1940s and 50s by the Meyer Bros., Otto Link, and Henry Chedeville, the rich resonant sound previously only available in vintage mouthpieces is BACK! There has never been a better hard rubber sax mouthpiece made.EVER! See the difference!

The GAIAs Alto’s True Large Chamber is breaking new ground. Large chambers have been widely explored in the history of tenor mouthpieces, but very little has been done with alto mouthpieces, until now. The GAIA Alto mouthpiece opens up a whole new world for the alto saxophone. Because they are manufactured with and accuracy higher than any other mouthpiece, vintage or new! The GAIA is truly revolutionary in bringing the vintage sound up to date both in design and construction.

Sound

The sound of a vintage Meyer Bros. mouthpiece, just better. Inspired by the Genius of Cannonball Adderley and the Jazz Greats throughout history. Full, rich and fat traditional Sound with a hint of edge.

Design

Medium Roll-Over Baffle combined with our precision crafted True Large Chamber. Complex interior design like a vintage mouthpiece, but fully machined incredible accuracy. Revolutionary in bringing the vintage sound up to date both in design and construction.

Testimonials

The GAIA is everything I have looked for in a piece. I have played on an early Babbitt Link for 30 years and the GAIA responds with less effort, the tone is more refined and clean, it has more punch and edge, and the intonation is more locked in and accurate than my Link. When I really lean on this piece, it really does bark! The altissimo, wow, much less effort! The notes up there really pop out with minimal effort. Theo's attention to detail is phenomenal! Everything is absolutely perfect and symmetrical. All the machining on the inside is flawless. I am stoked! For me, it's well worth the money and I am a full time musician, not a doctor or lawyer.” -Alastair Ingram (Alastair's Sax Lessons website)

You haven't scored a home run with the New AMBIKA and GAIA, you've hit a grand slam! I am totally blown away by them. Both the new AMBIKA and the GAIA seriously kick! It's time I start selling off my quit large collection of mouthpieces -Doug Moffet
