International touring American saxophonist Vincent Herring came to visit.
Mark Lockheart is one of the most distinctive and creative musicians on the current British music scene. As a saxophonist and composer, his work often defies categorisation and crosses the boundaries of the jazz, new music and folk worlds. Steve was initially a guitarist with Spandau Ballet. By the third Spandau Ballet album not only did he bring his love of percussion to the mix but also introduced the saxophone which has since become his signature instrument.

drumkit, clarinet, flute and trombone.
John Harle is one of the most exciting contemporary musicians in Britain. As one of the leading saxophonist of his generation he has a world profile, both in the wealth of music his playing has inspired and in his own compositions.
Renowned in
Europe as the "Fantastic Englishman", Ian Ballamy established himself
playing alongside notables including Hermeto Pascoal, the late Gil
Evans, George Coleman, Dewey Redman, Mike Gibbs and the New York
Composers Orchestra.
Touring extensively world-wide he has appeared at most international
festivals and venues.
Recently winning a lifetime achievement award at the Brecon Jazz Festival, Courtney Pine is most certainly right at the top of the jazz scene. Pine has done much to make jazz palatable for a younger audience, and as such is one of the UK's best ambassadors of the genre.
Woodwind specialist Mike Rossi is a professor of jazz and woodwinds at the South African College of Music at the University of Cape Town.
