"Finally someone has produced a horn that is as
close as it gets to a Selmer MK6 with the reliability of a modern
instrument. The Mauriat horns are not only a pleasure to play with
their spot on intonation and warm, full, vintage sound but they look
and feel fantastic too. The quality of the action and the meticulous
attention to detail is something that far surpasses anything I have
ever experienced in a modern horn. Many sax makers these days claim
to have ‘the Selmer sound and feel’ but in reality, rarely live up
to it. P. Mauriat seem to have it bang on and its great to be able
to go into the studio and have a warm vintage sound without the
rattles and clanks of an old horn. A truly superb sax!!"

"At last a new horn that sounds and feels really exceptional - just like
a vintage Mk 6 but new and with a big booty sound - the weight is great as
is the response - tuning is perfect and there is that woody/grainy thing in
the sound that I've only previously found in my old Selmers. Fantastic!"

Leading jazz
saxophonist Mornington Lockett with his P.Mauriat PMXT-66R.
While having his Selmer MKVI serviced Mornington borrowed the
Mauriat, loved it and bought it!
"Of all the new horns I have tried the Mauriat is the only one
versatile to excel in every context, while still possessing the
character to allow a personal sound."

"This is by far the most free-blowing sax I have ever played. Mauriat have
all the attributes the modern saxophone player needs - perfect intonation,
fast and reliable action, immediate response, great build quality, it feels
good and the weight is balanced - great in the studio and live!"

"since
buying the 66R I have spent a few hours playing it, alternating with
my Mk6. The Mauriat has all the character, colour and guts anyone
could want. From dark and smokey to roaring, plays effortlessly from
Bb to altissimo. I am knocked out by this horn. No longer a Selmer
snob!!"

"The P. Mauriat Saxophone possesses everything that I need in a
great horn: beautiful rich warm sound, superior intonation, perfect
harmonics and effortless response. The System 76 is a great
saxophone for both classical and jazz, the sound is so vibrant and
full of character, unlike most other modern saxophones. From
vintage to modern, P. Mauriat can stand up against them all, and at
a price everyone can afford." - Patrick Trahan

"Anyone
looking for a horn for older style jazz, blues or rock & roll should
certainly consider a 66R. Once you've tried the Mauriat, you'll probably find nothing else
quite fits the bill."

"I
play and teach mainly
Alto and had not played
Tenor for a few years &
was keen to get back
playing. I tried just
about everything and
was not happy until i
tried a P mauriat
Tenor.
For me they have that "Wow" factor and with a wide range there is a
horn to suit everyone."

"I've been really
impressed
with my PMXT-66R since I
bought it last year - I've
used it constantly for work
since then. In Jazz, Big
Band or Blues gigs, people
always compliment me on
the sound and ask if it's a
Reference... I love it!"

"For
twenty years I've been convinced that no modern saxophone could compete with
my Mark VI. The P. Mauriat System 76 has proven me wrong. It offers
the same pleasing mechanics and focused sound of my Selmer, plus all the
technical and maintenance advantages of a brand new instrument. I couldn't
be happier with this Saxophone, well done!"

'My PMauriat PMSA 67 is real pleasure to play. My sound has opened
up since I started playing it and I can hear a richness fullness and
depth that with practice I can get from this superbly made
instrument. It plays better than any horn I've ever played, with
consistency in strength of tone right across the range that opens up
all possibilities, this is the horn I've been waiting for.' -Nathaniel

Saxophonist / composer Dan Stern started off on the clarinet, before
moving on to the tenor saxophone when he started studying with
master musician Dave Liebman in the US.
His current band features some of London's
finest jazz talent: Robert Mitchell (piano), Julian Siegel (reeds),
Tom Mason (bass), and Asaf Sirkis (drums). The band plays with
intensity and passion, and yet is also able to pick ou the detail of
Dan's complex yet accessible music.

P. Mauriat B 302G baritone saxophone.
Absolutely beautiful. I was really knocked out by this horn, and
I`ve played a lot of baritones.
I
found choosing between the `G` and `DK` low B-flat baris quite
difficult, finally coming down in favour of the `G` because I felt
it was slightly brighter tonally and a tad more responsive. These
were truly the most free blowing and responsive horns I have yet
come across. I felt they had a wonderfully broad and rich tonal
base, effortlessly beautiful subtones, and they project really well.
And they`re lookers!
A
soloist`s horn without a doubt.
