This Custom Class "Vintage Series" tenor features dark brushed "antiqued" lacquer, rolled tone holes, and high F# key. These tenor saxophones have a very resonant and strong low end and an even tone throughout. Supplied with the highly regarded Super Jazz VI neck.

Rolled Tone Holes, a feature of many of the vintage American saxes offer performers a noticeably quieter key action because the rounded tone holes strike the pads on a slightly broader and rounder surface without digging into the leather of pad as standard tone holes will often do.

"One of the darkest metal mouthpieces I have come across with a rich, thick sound across the whole range. It filled up the room with ease, remarkably warm sounding, like an old vintage Otto Link. Would work very well for bebop and main stream jazz.
Inspired by the classic horns of the 1950's with a traditional compact bell flare for a centered and focused sound. Supplied with the Super Jazz VI neck. Hand engraved on the bell, bow, body and neck.

With case and basic mouthpiece. Free UK mainland delivery.

"This tenor sax has a presence that will turn heads (not just on looks alone) and it did just that! I played it on an intimate gig and I have never received so many comments about how beautiful the sound was!!

For me, this is the closest I have come to finding that vintage sound that seems to be the ultimate goal for most! The horn delivers a very centred sound, with a big dark resonance that is consistent through all registers. The tuning is the most accurate I have ever known, which we come to expect from a Mauriat sax!

Altissimo's are so easy to produce they really do feel like part of the normal given register of the sax. Key positioning is extremely comfortable and everything sit's just in the right place without having to make any big stretches. Believe me, I've tried to find something bad to say about this horn but, I can't!" - Andy Brush April 07
