USA) Silver Plated Alto
Sax

this actual sax).
Unusual and very nice old alto
saxophone, fully refurbished by our own Dennis Primett with all new pads,
springs, felts and corks.
It plays beautifully with a warm tone and those who've played it have
preferred it to the old Conn altos we have. Lovely engraving
featuring an "Elk" and a "Heart", remarkably clear as you can see in the
photographs. Our online research suggests that it is early 1920's and made
by Buescher.
The very first saxophone
manufactured in the United States was made by Gus Buescher in 1888 when he
was employed by the C. G. Conn Company. In 1895, Gus started his own
company, and
before long he was making an excellent and highly regarded
line of saxophones.
