Bill Evans - Language of Improvisation - Introducing the Signature mouthpiece

Thursday 2nd March @ London - £FREE (£5 Deposit)

Doors 6.45pm - 7.00pm start

“Who do Miles Davis, Gregg Allman, Willie Nelson, Herbie Hancock, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks all have in common? Bill Evans, that’s who!”

Bill Evans is a world-class saxophonist and producer who made his debut on the international music scene in the 1980s at the age of 21, originally with Miles Davis. He recorded six records with Davis, which led to him playing with the likes of John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Mick Jagger and Willie Nelson to name but a few. With 24 solo albums, Grammy nods, and countless collaborations and tours, Evans has continued to explore a dazzling variety of adventurous musical settings as a pioneering bandleader, consistently winning fans in the worldwide arena. Evans will be spending much of his time touring with the Bill Evans Band in support of his new album “Rise Above”.

Bill will be discussing and introducing his new Signature mouthpiece, as well as discussing the language of improvisation, at our latest masterclass. Attendees will be treated to lively discussion mixed with his sense of humour, jazz stories and personal opinions as to why we play this incredible but insane instrument called the saxophone. Bill will be playing his horn throughout the clinic and taking questions from the audience. There will be many interesting talking points, including his work with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and John Mclaughlin all before he was 27 years old, recording sessions over 24 solo CDs to date, and recent tours worldwide with his own band.

Bill also recommends to those interested, to please bring your saxophones and try out his new mouthpiece (there will be plenty to try on the night!!).

Says Bill: "We have proof that this mouthpiece has saved over 20 marriages, brought countries together, and helped many a player on the edge of insanity come back to reality, even if it’s his own!”
