A unique sax made of solid nickel silver for a centered and powerful sound. A clear lacquer is sprayed onto the base metal so some of the seams and soldering are visible on very close inspection. So you don't get a 'perfect' cosmetic finish but it reminds you that this is a truly hand made instrument and we like that!

Great new "Vintage" finish on one of the World's greatest saxes - and haven't they made a good job of it! Each sax is unique as it is left in it's raw state, tarnished, unpolished with seams showing. However, it is still beautifully engraved with "SX90R Vintage" on the bell and lacquered so the finish is smooth to the touch and will not deteriorate.

The keywork has a matt steel grey finish with grey pearl buttons.

The outfit even includes a "vintage" style rectangular case covered in cloth with stitched leather ends.

The Keilwerth SX90R saxophones. Keilwerth took the technical advantages and improvements of the SX90, and added some extra features to truly make the musician‘s instrument his own. The result was the SX90R (the R standing for tonehole rings), a saxophone reminiscent of the old Conn and Buescher saxes of the 1940s. The most striking feature of this saxophone is its toneholes. The SX90R uses tonehole rings which are soldered on to the standard drawn toneholes. The tonehole rings give the pads a longer life, and the rings themselves are easier to replace if necessary, because they are a piece separate from the tonehole. The production of darker, more immediate, less focused sound is an added benefit of the tonehole rings, which allow the musician to form his own individual voice. List price £2,589 inc.vat.
