Ebonite & Plastic Mouthpieces for Soprano

Good all-rounders, and especially favored on soprano, BARI offer a large chambered ebonite & and range of metals from the open chambered WTII through to the bright and piecing Hawk II.

Down the years most of the staff of sax.co.uk have acquired one of these mouthpieces for their personal collections. Mine is a 110/2 and has been one of my main gigging pieces for the last 3 years. What you get with this piece is a warm toned ebonite but with moderate bullet baffle, giving the potential for far greater projection than would normally be the case with a medium/large chamber hard rubber. To an extent this is a best of both worlds piece- full and rich, but with the potential to really push things when needed (its got a good strong altissimo too) .

For alto players, very much the standard choice for a flexible toned and versatile mouthpiece (virtually every player who comes into our shops wanting an alto set up to cover both jazz and classical playing chooses a narrow tipped Meyer)

Yamaha- The Yamaha 4C is the ideal beginners mouthpiece, well made- free blowing and about the easiest mouthpiece to get a good sound out of. Their ebonite Custom ‘pieces are a well made big chambered construction in a similar vein to the pieces such as the Selmer S80.
