It feels solidly made and, from what we've experienced, they are well constructed & reliable. As with the majority of the Mauriat range there is something going on here that you really don't get with other modern horns. The sound is huge, dark and mellow, I was reminded of the old Conn M12 T-bar horns- but with the extra advantage that the Mauriat has a modern action and its intonation is vastly superior to the notoriously dodgy tuning of the old T-Bars. Though it isn't immediately apparent, the main body of the PMB300 is actually made of bronze- a fact which accounts for a significant amount of it's vintage tone and also its solid feel.
