The design of these new mouthpieces are all-new, from the outside in.From its characteristic shape reminiscent of vintage mouthpieces and decidedly comfortable beak design to its perfectly designed facing, rails and table, the Optimum series is designed to be more free-blowing and responsive.With accurate articulation and total control at all dynamic ranges, the Optimum mouthpieces also possess precise intonation - a Vandoren hallmark.The BL3 has a close lay equivalent to a Selmer C* and the BL4 is far more open, similar to a Selmer F. Our in-house baritone man Jules likes the BL4 a lot describing it as really smooth and even across the range, easy to control with a clean sound.
