Ponzol Vintage 'Link' Ebonite Mouthpiece for Tenor Ponzol Vintage 'Link' Ebonite Mouthpiece for Tenor
Why search Ebay and pay hundreds of pounds for an old Otto Link tenor mouthpiece in poor condition. Peter has used the facing and dimensions from a 60's Link for this new Vintage series. As close as you will get to having a new "old" Link.

"It's fantastic news that a well respected figure in the world of mouthpiece design is now producing a modern mouthpiece that captures the sound of the old 60's Link - something that we are often asked for. He has done a sterling job!

Ponzol -Vintage Ebonite 105 for Tenor. Having tested it straight after warming up on my Link 6* (admittedly a slightly closer tip opening) I found the sound to be immediately more open and instant. I always find the Link a very pleasant and warm sounding mouthpiece to play but sometimes I feel that the sound is more lateral, rather than forward projecting. Ponzol has maintained the breadth of tone that we associate with Links but the upper layer to the sound has more bite and forwards travel over the Link (which could be the missing link that some players are looking for!). A fantastic sounding mouthpiece!"

Ponzol - Vintage Ebonite 100 for Tenor This mouthpiece has a tip opening equivalent to a 7 (so a half step closer than the 105) but it has the effect of feeling a good degree brighter and more instant again than the 105. Overall it is slightly less breathy, which is normally the effect of closing in the tip a little, but it has the same forward projection and breadth of tone as the 105. If you are more accustomed to playing a slightly smaller tip then you will find this mouthpiece more comfortable - if you prefer to emphasize the sub-tone element and keep a little more airiness in the sound then go for the 105!" jim@sax.co.uk
