These American made saxes are a nice alternative to the European & Far Eastern models. They lack some of the finesse of the Japanese horns but make up for it with a robust build quality and a broader tone. Clear lacquered with nickel plated keys for a nice retro look.This sax does not have a top F#key. About 40 years ago manufacturers started fitting a top F# key to their saxophones to extend the range. Some purists felt that this extra hole had a detrimental effect on the sound so that today some maufacturers still offer their instruments without top F#. (The very latest Selmer "Flamingo" does not have a top F# key).
