King C Melody SN 738** [1893-1920]
King C Melody SN 738** [1893-1920]

This is a very old vintage King C Melody saxophone finished with gold re-lacquer. We are unable to pinpoint its precise date and can only put it between 1983 and 1920 making it one of the first of Kings production.

Interesting features on this horn are the High F Key an alternative G# trill key and a brace supporting the neck.

This is a very old instrument yet in fantastic condition considering. There is a very small impression on left hand side of the neck just after the cork. Other than this, it's practically perfect - just old. The body of the horn is largely dent free. The one and only exception to this is where a small pillar supporting the palm D key is very slightly pushed into the body. The lacquer is 98% present with very minor wear in the common places (Palm keys, thumb hook and octave key). The bow of the horn has some evidence of some minor dent removal but otherwise perfect and bell is immaculate with the "King" logo and engraving.

Comes with the original case but no mouthpiece. C Melody mouthpieces are available from Sax.co.uk.

Selmer Mark VI Tenor SN: 202*** [1972]
Selmer Mark VI Tenor SN: 202*** [1972]

This is it, the one! The Selmer Mark VI - Selmer's longest ever production run of saxophones and very much the standard vintage horn. Anyone you have listened to will likely have played on one of these at some point in their career.

A later model but a great player nonetheless; actually better than a lot of "5 Digits" we have had come though. The horn is in good condition with no evidence of previous repairs, dents or dings. There are scratches to the lacquer throughout but nothing that stands out alone as being particularly bad. Great lively horn with a vibrant sound and very nice to play.

Supplied with a soft case

£5,200.00 Including VAT at 3.3333%
