A wide selection of facings offer superior tone quality and projection with complete control, making Otto Link a top choice of professionals.

"I can see why this mouthpiece has been enjoyed by all standards of player for so long. It's so easy to play with an even response from top to bottom. It may struggle in a loud big band solo but it's great for players who want a warm sound without having to sacrifice projection. It also has great overtones which immediately pop out when you want them to. For me, the character of the Link is reminiscent of the classic Joe Henderson era." - Paul london@sax.co.uk

Hi, I never write to companies to applaud them - if I've paid for something I expect it to do what it says on the tin - but I have to say your recommendation was spot on! I phoned an order in at 13:20 yesterday and the mouthpiece arrived at 07:20 this morning! I've just given it a good workout - first impression was good, even better when I put the lig on the right way round (duh), and when I put my Rovner Dark lig on, it just took off. Sounds great, intonation superb, easy to play in all registers and hardly any fatigue. Really flatters the sax and my playing - so much closer to the sound in my head that I am kicking myself for not changing before. The best money I've spent in ages! So, thanks a million! Very best regards, Steve

With LaVoz Medium Soft reeds and own ligature. Nicely controlled and very expressive, I just found the sound a little closed in and I really felt like I wanted to open up on the treble. Good fun to play and a very warm tone. Articulation was clear and I could whiz around all registers without any effort and no squeaks or intonation problems. Adding a BG ligature brightens things up a bit and this mouthpiece like the soprano and alto ebonite ones, is good fun to play (saxes used Selmer Series II and Yanagisawa T991).

Otto Link started as a repair technician in the William S. Haynes flute company in Boston, Massachusetts, in the 1920s. In the early 1930s he moved to 117 West 48th street in New York City to start his own mouthpiece business. During the 1950s he briefly moved to Freeport on Long Island, NY, before moving his business to Pompano Beach, Florida in the late 1950s. He later sold the company to Ben Harrod who continued to produce and hand finish mouthpieces under the Otto Link name during the 1960s/70s. Today, Otto Link mouthpieces are produced and distributed by the J.J. Babbitt company in Elkhart, Indiana.
