This rather tarnished old sax is engraved "THE GREAT GRETSCH AMERICAN." Although the finish is worn there are no signs of repair work and just a couple of minor dents under the bow. We can't quite make out the serial number but it's almost certainly pre-war. It is most probably one of the so called stencil brands made by the leading US manufacturers Conn, Buescher, King, Martin or Selmer.
It blows well after a recent
service by Dennis Primett. The smaller bell encourages a distinctive
vintage American sound.
Old hard case which is sound but has its handle missing.
