1928 Buescher Aristocrat Alto Sax SOLD
(These are photos of this actual sax).

The very first saxophone manufactured in the United States was made by Gus Buescher in 1888 when he was employed by the C. G. Conn Company. In 1895, Gus started his own company, and before long he was making an excellent and highly regarded line of saxophones.

Made famous, in its day by the legendary Johnny Hodges (lead alto with the Ellington big band) The aristocrat (along with the 400 series) is considered to be the height of Buesher's engineering achievements, before the company was eventually bought by Selmer in 1963.

This instrument has lost a lot of lacquer during it’s 70 year + career; but remains un-dented and still plays beautifully.  Recent partial re-pad and set up by Doug Mcbain of Vintage Saxes in Brighton. With old (we think original) case.

This sax is the property of sax.co.uk employee Will Hood so for further details email will@sax.co.uk It is a private sale so no vat is applicable but you can still order online using credit/debit cards.
